Shalini Kasliwal is an eighth-generation descendent of the storied Indian jewelry house, The Gem Palace, known for making jewelry for Jaipur’s Maharajas, international royalty and Hollywood’s elite. Though a student of law, Shalini has a passion for jewelry that runs deep in her blood and in 2014 she made the decision to join the family business. Shalini has helped establish the North American operation named for her father, Sanjay Kasliwal.

Under her guidance, new collections have been introduced and classic designs refined. As the ultimate brand ambassador, Shalini has built a strong following among top collectors and also forged partnerships with the country’s most dynamic and forward-thinking retailers,

including Just One Eye in Los Angeles, Jeffrey in Atlanta, New York and Palo Alto, and online via Moda Operandi.

Shalini takes inspiration from her diverse background – her mother is Italian and her father was Indian – blending the two cultures effortlessly into her designs and overall approach to the brand’s image. Shalini upholds the family’s tradition of exceptional craftsmanship using noble materials while infusing a modern approach for the next generation of enthusiasts. A citizen of the world, Shalini divides her time between the US, Europe and Asia, but calls Manhattan’s Upper East Side home.
